Triumph of the Spirit Awards Gala

During a warm evening at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, friends united for the Aviva Family and Children’s Services 2005 Triumph of the Spirit Awards Gala. Aviva Family and Children’s Services is a non-profit, non-sectarian, multi-service agency that has remained active in the Los Angeles community since 1915. Teri Hatcher served as the honorary gala chair, and guests enjoyed cocktails as well as a silent auction before a delicious dinner, which was accompanied by the entertainment of Laraine Newman and an award ceremony. The group recognized three remarkable individuals: Arthur E. Levine, respected business leader and member of Aviva’s Council of Guardians whose extraordinary philanthropy has been a cornerstone for the agency over the past 11 years; Shelley Curtis Litvack, Emmy award-winning producer/director and member of Aviva’s Platinum Associates who opened her heart and her rolodex to ensure the success of this evening; and Toni Braxton, Grammy award-winning recording artist who is a true champion of children’s causes.

The gala’s co-chairs, Susan Casden and Lauren Leichtman, said, “All three of our honorees are the essence of the ‘Spirit of Compassion,’ and we thank them generously embracing the young people served by Aviva Family and Children’s Services.”

The event raised over US $600,000 for Aviva's programs.

Overall, it was a great night!
