The Dukes

Hollywood’s rising stars and legends stopped by the Directors Guild on Monday, August 27 for a special screening of the industry-buzzing movie, The Dukes.

Host Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, close friend of actor/director Robert Davi, welcomed Chazz Palminteri, Peter Bogdonavich, Frank D’Amico, Eloise DeJoria, Sharon Lawrence, Anton Yelchin, Alonzo Mouzon, Billy Baldwin, Joe Penny, Kelsey Grammar and others to enjoy fine hors d’oueuvres, cocktails, courtesy of premium tequila company, Patrón, and the uplifting, foot-tapping Doo Wop sounds of the
a cappella group, the Emeralds.

As the cocktail hour wound down, guests headed inside the theater to watch the movie. The WorldFest Houston-winning film stars Davi (Danny), Palminteri (George), Elya Baskin (Murph) and D’Amico (Armond) as members of the once chart-topping, successful Doo Wop group called The Dukes.

When the group experiences cash flow problems years later, they decide to band together and pull off a gold heist. After it fails, they must think of a way to recapture the fame and fortune they once had.

Charming and funny, The Dukes is a feel-good kind of movie that explores the highs and lows of life. This is definitely a movie people of all generations should see.
