Step Up Inspiration Awards

Step Up Women’s Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to “invest, involve, and inspire” young women, honored Geena Davis (Commander in Chief), Jamie McCourt (Los Angeles Dodgers president and vice chairman), Nina Tassler (CBS president), and Adriana Alberghetti (Endeavor Talent Agency partner) at its Third Annual Inspiration Awards luncheon.

The lavish celebration, held in the beautiful Beverly Hilton Hotel ballroom, began with the arrivals of movers and shakers Melissa George, Tara Lipinski, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Lisa Rinna, Mimi Rogers, Amy Smart, Molly Sims, Jonathan Silverman and Jennifer Finnigan, and Mena Survari, to name a few.

We couldn’t help but notice Andrea Bowen.  The Desperate Housewivesstar lit up the red carpet in gorgeous gold number she paired with a “Make the Connection” bracelet, an amazing amethyst and freshwater pearl piece that encourages women to make the connection between the human papilloma virus (HPV) and cervical cancer--the second leading cause of death in women.

Following their arrivals, attendees admired various items on display, including powerful photo essays by Step Up teens, luscious couture creations from event sponsor Escada, and fabulous auction items benefiting the non-profit organization.

Guests were then seated to commence the awards portion of the luncheon. Step Up Network founder Kaye Popofsky Kramer welcomed Entertainment Tonight’s Mary Hart and Cold Case’s Kathryn Morris to the stage as they presented the inspiration awards to the honorees.

Long-time Step Up supporter Beauvais-Nilon commended the organization.

“I love that they embrace women,” she raved. “If they are helping young girls with self-esteem, why not support it,” she added?
