Don’t throw out your skinny cigarette
pants or Flashdance legwarmers just yet! From what we’ve
seen at New
York Fashion Week, in between mingling with celebrity
fashionistas and high-end designers, the ‘70s and ‘80s are making
a fashion comeback…for sure! Check out what else will be en vogue
this fall:
Badgley Mischka
Red carpet fashion fixtures Mark Badgley and James Mischka showcased elegant evening wear and casual chic clothing at their highly-anticipated show. Young Hollywood starlets Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen had their eyes on the designing duo’s sizzling, red-hot scorcher, which we must say was muy caliente!
Marc Jacobs
As expected, Marc Jacobs shied away from the autumn trends to offer a new, envelope-pushing look. His sexy, high-heeled patent-leather Mary Janes and edgy, elbow-length leather gloves were a hit with The OC cutie Rachel Bilson and celebrity Nicole Ritchie.
Michael Kors
Project Runway judge Michael Kors proved he was definitely “in” with his collegiate-cool clothing line that featured a ‘60s mod-styled turtleneck camel dress paired with black, white, and taupe argyle knee-highs, coffee-brown penny loafers, and a light gray-patterned two-piece suit matched up with a mauve-striped dress shirt and an eye-catching burgundy tie. Kors also gave audience members, including Debra Messing and fellow PR judge Heidi Klum, a sneak peek at his fabulous formalwear line.
Oscar de la Renta
Luxe label designer Oscar de la Renta delighted us with a beautifully-embroidered brown cashmere coat paired with a green leather embroidered skirt and a stylish, metallic brocade jacket complemented with a creamy beige cashmere top and gorgeous gray flannel bottoms.
Ralph Lauren
Highlights from Ralph Lauren’s cool and sophisticated collection included a stunning, yet strapping Great Gatsby-inspired three-piece black-white, pinstriped suit with brown hat and a strapless champagne bodice-fit-for-a-goddess gown. But, Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry went crazy over the cashmere pieces, saying she loved them. |
