Loraine Colonello and Randy Jackson

A Place Called Home

A slew of celebrities, including Penny Marshall and Byron Allen, made an appearance at the beautiful Beverly Hilton Hotel to celebrate the 13th annual Gala for Children. Sponsored by A Place Called Home (APCH), an organization dedicated to helping Los Angeles at-risk youth, the fabulous fete began with a live auction.

John "Spider" Salley served as guest auctioneer. His humorous performance garnered significant donations. Among the amazing items up for bid were spectacular vacation, sports and entertainment packages worth well over US $10,000.

Following the exciting auction, The Swan’s life coach Nely Galan hosted the awards portion of the evening. She introduced American Idol judge Randy Jackson and football legend Marcus Allen as they presented the awards to the evening’s honorees.

Peter Liguori, President of the Fox Broadcasting Company, was awarded the Debrah Constance Humanitarian Award. Actress Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, Rodney Peete, one of the latest additions to Fox Sports Net’s Best Damn Sports Show Period received the Angel of the Children Award. Philanthropist Susan Saltz-Burke and her husband Kevin Burke, managing partner of Trinity Capital, earned the Children’s Inspiration Award.
