The 80th Annual Academy Awards®

The ceremony for the 80th Academy Awards® was a little disappointing with Jon Stewart hosting the least watched affair in years.  Although No Country for Old Men won four Oscars® the four main acting awards went to Western Europeans: Best Actor Daniel Day-Lewis, Best Actress Marion Cotillard, Best Supporting Actor Javier Bardem and Best Supporting Actress Tilda Swinton.  None were from classic big studio pictures so there was a certain lack of excitement at the ceremony following the three month writers’ strike.

On the other hand there were several great pre Oscar® parties and gifting suites that garnered a lot of attention. One of the most sought after tickets was for Roger Neal’s SHM Red Carpet Dinner, at the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills, presented by Maggie Ferrari Jewelry, Natalie K Diamonds and Nicole Barr.

The wow factor was that Kimora Lee Simmons was wearing over $5 million of Natalie K Diamonds on the red carpet including a $1 million hair piece, earrings, rings, necklace and bracelet.

Another fabulous suite was TMG’s Luxury Suite at the Beverly Hilton presented by CUUR.  Among other luxury goods providers were Pureology, Floris, Opelescence trewhite, Wushu International Foundation and Dallman confections.

Among the many celebrities spotted at the TMG Luxury Suite were Spike Lee, Deidre Halls, Mario Lopez and Kevin Sorbo.
